Race weekend!! 💥🏁🏎️💨
The last round didn't go quite as we had hoped again. We invested an enormous amount of energy, time, and preparation into this race.
In qualifying, we started from P5, which again wasn't quite what we envisioned. Nevertheless, we knew our race pace would be strong. Already in lap 1, we managed to fight our way up to P2 and even take the lead temporarily.
It was an incredibly intense race against four-time champion Michal Smidl. Unfortunately, due to a different strategy, he once again had the opportunity to overtake us at the end. Despite this, we initially thought: P2 would have been a very strong result and an important step forward.
However, after the race came the disappointment. For contact in lap 1, which we personally considered a racing incident or unavoidable, we received a 5-second penalty. This ultimately dropped us to P5. Of course, that's frustrating, especially since we don't entirely agree with the decision. Nevertheless, that's part of sim racing and motorsport.
Despite everything, we're taking away many positives. Our pace was strong again, and we showed that we can compete at the front. That's why we're now focusing entirely on the next race in Imola.
Imola is an extremely technical track where overtaking is very difficult. That's precisely why one-lap qualifying will play a crucial role. We've been working intensively on this area in recent weeks and hope to make the next step there.
We are currently in 5th place in the championship and will do everything we can to further reduce the gap to the top 4.
