Race Recap – Podium in Round 2
The second race weekend of the season was a significant step forward, which I was able to conclude with a podium finish (P3). Even though the result is very positive, the weekend clearly showed where there is still room for improvement.
Qualifying was a missed opportunity. I was able to set the fastest first sector of all drivers, which shows that the pace is fundamentally there. However, a mistake in the second sector cost valuable time and thus prevented a better starting position. Starting from P5 made the race unnecessarily more difficult.
The race start went well; I immediately gained a position and moved up to P4. From then on, the focus was on strategically using the Push-to-Pass optimally, a crucial factor in the further course of the race.
A key moment was the overtaking maneuver against the reigning champion Michal Smidl, where I used my last Push-to-Pass. A clean and clear maneuver that ultimately secured me the podium.
Overall, pace and consistency have significantly improved compared to the previous races, which is a very positive signal. At the same time, this level also shows how crucial small mistakes, especially in qualifying, can be.
The focus is now on further refining performance and achieving it more consistently.
Next stop: Spa.
We are looking forward to the next race and your support, whether on-site or online. Every bit of support means a lot and gives us an extra boost! 💪
